The title for Me and Earl and the Dying Girl gives you everything you need to know about Me and Earl and the Dying Girl. It’s about a boy, who has a friend called Earl, and another friend who’s dying. Everything you need to know is in the title. However, that doesn’t mean that it’s the only occupant of this dramatic comedy.

Me and Earl and the Dying Girl is at first sight a light hearted comedy with a depressing name. Then at second sight it is a tear stealing drama with a depressing name.

Me and Earl follows Greg Gaines who doesn’t really belong to any social group in high school so he often retreats to the history teacher’s office to watch classic films with his co-worker; Earl. One day, his mother tells him that Greg’s classmate has leukemia and that it would be nice for him to hang out with her.

The script very easily twists your emotions around when viewing. For a large portion of the film, you’ll be laughing your head off. And for a smaller yet still large portion, you’ll be crying. There are many film references that will appeal to the film buff and regular viewer alike.

Me and Earl and the Dying Girl is hilarious, dramatic, appealing and beautiful. It’s everything you could hope to have in a great movie. Me and Earl and the Dying Girl is coming to wide release soon and I highly recommend that you see it.
