Even though we’re three months in, 2015 still has plenty to keep us entertained. The question is whether the entertainment will be worth raving about or not.
So I’ve picked 5 films being released in the upcoming 9 months and predicted if they’ll be better or worse than their predecessors.
Avengers: Age of Ultron
If this new offering from the malevolent mind of Stan Lee is anything like it’s older siblings, it will be nothing short of an action packed, humour infused, enjoyable romp. It goes without saying that expectations are high and another epic cameo from Stan Lee is anticipated. I have no doubt that Avengers: Age of Ultron will be one of the best films of the year.
Jurassic Park 3 never lived up to the expectations of the two before it, and I have a strong feeling neither will Jurassic World. I fear that despite everyone’s expectations of a dinosaur bloodbath smothered with Chris Pratt, there won’t be enough dinosaurs. Remember 2014’s Godzilla? Everyone was waiting for the famous Japanese monster to hit the big screen and dominate until the credits, yet most people were disappointed. I’m afraid a reoccurrence may be present in this highly anticipated June release.
I’m probably not the only film buff to admit this, but the first trailer didn’t change my low expectations of Terminator 5 or Terminator Genisys or whatever it’s called.
It already looks like the story is going to make this way more confusing than it needs to be, and that it looks like a copy and paste of the original story with some love interest thrown in the mix. I’m going to recommend avoiding this film unless you’re really excited for Schwarzenegger to repeat his lines from 30 YEARS AGO.
Even though the Bond franchise has had a few bumps along the way, the last few installments have been pure gold! And when the director of American Beauty and Skyfall returns to direct Agent 007 once again, one can only hope that it will be nothing short of a masterpiece. And with Christoph Waltz playing the villain, what could go wrong? Nothing.
Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens
Despite the hype for this long awaited sequel to the 1983 legend (Return of the Jedi), I seem to be the only person that I know of that remembers what happened in 1999. Do these events sound familiar?
–Star Wars Installment is announced.
–Star Wars Installment is released.
–Star Wars Installment is average.
–Star Wars fans are disappointed.
–Star Wars fans trash movie for years to come.
Although, with George Lucas stepping down from the director’s chair this could either be a good change of pace, or a terrible artistic choice. Sadly, we won’t know until December. So I’ll refrain from further comment until then (or until another trailer is released).
So those are my predictions of some of the biggest films being released in the following 9 months. What do you think will be the best film of the year? What do you think will be the worst film of the year? Leave your comments on the side and don’t forget to follow my Instagram page.
